Intended Uses
These are the intended uses of Talent Catalog.
Database
Talent Catalog is the first online platform of its kind to collect comprehensive data on the professional backgrounds of thousands of refugees and displaced people. It is a single database that enables many organizations to use it collectively, reducing the burden on displaced people to register in multiple places to pursue opportunities and maximizing the potential of the data gathered, leading to more efficient job matching.
Job-matching
Talent Catalog enables partners and employers to create entries for jobs that are in active recruitment. By using elastic search and detailed search fields, users can effectively search the database to identify displaced people who meet the requirements of the job entries. Users can use the search results to compile lists of select candidates that will be put forward to employers.
Case-management
Case management of Talent Catalog allows users to complete and track key tasks in candidate selection, job matching, visa, and relocation processes. It is enabled for managing and tracking candidates’ cases as well as job entries. Talent Catalog provides a detailed case history for all users and is also a central repository of candidate and job entry documents.
Analytics
Talent Catalog can also extract analytics about refugee skills to help inform livelihoods and migration programs and policy design. Data about registrants and their professional backgrounds, language skills, gender and qualifications can be used in convincing governments to establish displaced talent visa schemes and securing employer buy-in (as employers want to know there is a critical mass of talent in a particular skill area before committing to recruit).
