Preface

There are a lot of moving pieces in helping refugees move from one country to another. The goal of the Displaced Talent Hub is to help you cut through the noise and identify the concrete steps involved in supporting a displaced person to navigate a successful recruitment, visa application, and migration process. Throughout this section, we will refer to this as the “end-to-end process”: it begins in a “source country,” where a person is living in displacement and ends in a “destination country,” where a person has a regular legal status and gainful employment.

These articles have been developed by Talent Beyond Boundaries and its partners based on several years of experience designing and implementing refugee labour mobility programs. Our goal is to simplify the process by which new and additional actors can join the movement to expand refugee labour mobility. While these articles may be of use to a broader audience of organizations, policymakers, and/or employers, they are written primarily for organizations seeking to develop, implement, or get involved in refugee labour mobility programs.

Several articles refer to the Talent Catalog, an open-source database designed to facilitate labour mobility among a growing ecosystem of partners working in “source countries” and “destination countries.”  You can learn more about the Talent Catalog here.

These articles should not be viewed as prescriptions for all partners in all contexts. Rather, by providing detailed insight into one successful approach, we hope to offer other actors a launching pad for their own adaptation, iteration, and approach.
